I love Oklahoma in the wintertime...
« on: February 10, 2009, 01:13:21 PM »

We have tornadoes touching down around the OKC metro area right now in freaking February.  The first one was lowering right over my wife's work and touched down a mile or so away.  They are in a basement shelter so they are fine.  Tornado season sure is fun.

That first tornado was on the ground for over 10 minutes North of the Metro near Edmond.

Looks like the only fatalities were in southern Oklahoma when a half mile wide tornado hit a small town head on.  No one was seriously injured in the metro area.  My aunt's house almost took a direct hit and they have some roof damage.  She was getting into her storm shelter from the garage and the garage door opened due to power flashes.  The wind knocked her across the garage and into the storm shelter door.  Crazy stuff.  It went right over my wife it just wasn't on the ground then.  Oak Tree golf course where the PGA has been held got hit.  Some huge houses were practically leveled.
