LOL @ Carnegie Mellon

On the Fox Movie Channel, a really bad movie called How I Got Into College is playing right now.

At the beginning of the movie, the protagonist, a high school kid, and his friend go to a college fair at their school. The recruiters from the various schools are caricatures of what they might really be like. One recruiter, played by the guy who played Booger on Revenge of the Nerds, is an evangelical-type representing some fictitious Bible school. There's a group of dudes in Army uniforms telling the kids that college is for pussies, and a group of people dressed up as cowboys "lasso" the kids and drag them to the booth of some fictitious "Southwest University" in Texas. Then all of a sudden a robot (looking a lot like the one from Nerds) rolls up to them with a digital display reading "Carnegie-Mellon". The robot says "Do you believe in robotics and artificial intelligence? Then follow me!!!" Then a group of the dorkiest looking kids shows up and follows the robot as it rolls away.

Oh, and the female love interest (played by Lara Flynn Boyle) expresses interest in going to a fictitious, private "Ramsey College" which supposedly costs $10K per year. Her father is a Michigan fan who thinks that she should go to UM just like her sisters and pay only $2K per year. LOL

I've never heard of this movie.  Looks like its from Savage Steve Holland.  I loved Better Off Dead and liked One Crazy Summer.

(off-topic: wow, he also animated the Whammy on Press Your Luck   Thumbs Up)

That French chick from Better off Dead (who was also played that cruel *goshdarn* bitch from Last American Virgin and one of the princesses from Bill and Ted's) is in this movie too. Of course, that guy who played Booger is in both movies as well.

Better off Dead was a cult classic in my dorm my freshman year.  Used to...... *cough*(partakeintheherb)*cough* and watch it in our neighbors room all the time.

Have it now, but haven't watched it yet.  Seems I'm not in for much.

My wife and I watched it a week or two ago.  She got tired of me pointing out Pittsburgh landmarks.
