PORT ST. LUCIE — Police on Sunday arrested a man spotted walking around in his underwear in connection with a car windshield apparently smashed out with an ax handle, according to an affidavit released Monday.

An officer noticed a vehicle with a flattened rear tire and smashed windshield. A red ax handle with "Walking small – your face here" written in black marker was inside, and looked to have been used in smashing the windshield.

"We made contact with (Doud) and asked him why he was walking around in his underwear outside the neighbor's home," the affidavit states. "He stated that he likes to walk around in his underwear and that he does this often."
