According to CBS Sunday Morning, Canadians eat more donuts per capita than (U.S.) Americans (thanks to Tim Horton's).

As of 2004 in Canada, there were more Tim Hortons coffee shops per capita than outlets of Starbucks, Krispy Kreme, Dunkin Donuts and McDonalds in the United States combined.

Tim Horton was a star defenseman for the Toronto Maple Leafs for 17 years and helped the team to 4 Stanley Cups. In 1964 he invested in a small doughnut shop in Hamilton, Ontario. He and his business partner, Ron Joyce, expanded it into a large chain. After Horton died, Joyce bought out the Horton's family stake in the chain, but kept the name. By then it had grown into a household word in Canada.

At one point the chain eventually started expanding into the U.S through Wendy's franchises, although I think Wendy's might have divested themselves of Tim Hortons stock a couple of years ago.

Topic:  I'm surprised the U.S. doesn't level the playing field on law enforcement numbers alone.  Oh well.  Stat.s don't lie.

Personally.....I had a Neurosurgeon scare me off of donuts a long time ago.  Fat--> Plaque--> Carotid artery disease and so on and so forth.  Maddie goes for a good donut however.
