I believe you.  Have trouble understanding you, but I believe you.

I don't think I should go into hosts file, etc, and change/save stuff here at work.  If I screw it up the IT guys will have me, and my work posting days will be over.

That's what I'm a feared of too, I printed the "change hosts" thing but I'm skeered.

What's TTL?

Just let it ride for a day or so.  It'll fix itself.  You're right, if you're not comfortable messing with the hosts file and/or it's not your machine you're asking for trouble.

What's TTL?

Time To Live.  Tells caching servers how long to keep the data around before it refreshes.  Usually set to 24 hours but it's completely up to the hostmaster.
