Computer Question?
« on: January 31, 2007, 04:36:58 PM »

Is there a way to save multiple emails in Outlook Express?  Able to save them one at a time but can't figure out how to do a "batch". Thanks

You could select the bunch of them and forward them to yourself, then save that FW email.

How do you want to save them?

If you want to back them up onto a disc, you could make a new folder and call it whatever you wish (e-mails from jan - aug, 2007 or whatever, if you plan on using the same disc in the future the date might prove helpful), then select all the e-mails you want to save and drag them into the folder.  I don't use OE anymore, but that way always worked great for me.

Does Outlook Express do Auto-Archiving?

I don't think so.  For some reason, I'm thinking that it would have a window pop up every-once-in-a-while, yet at the same time I'm doubting myself.  Also, I don't see any options about auto-archiving in the options, which there should be if it had that option.

Another way to save things would be to go to File>Folders>Compact/Compact All Folders.  I just found that option.  However, it was once recommended to me not to do it that way.  I'm not sure why, but I think there's a possibility that it was that it might over-compress your e-mails.  I could be entirely wrong about it though.  If I do find out why (and now I am curious again), I'll let you know.
