taxes question
« on: April 05, 2007, 03:31:00 PM »

so in late november philips bought a company i have about 10 shares of stock in.  they sent me a letter (to my old texas address) saying if i surrender them I can get cash.  I kind of forgot, then put it off... blah blah.    if i send it in now,  I don't need to worry about it till next year's taxes, right ?

stroh is wise indeed. Cool

The date you sell/cash in is the key. No matter what, if you still have the stock you don't have to worry about 2006 taxes for this stock.
