Interesting Day 1 Open Stats (as of 145 pm est)

so 1437 holes played. (at the moment i copied off the leaderboard) based on those scores and extrapolated out to a full field finish ... scoring average should finish at... 74.91 (par 70) however, with the pgh weather warming up and getting a bit breezy, later afternoon finishes will likely be WORSE than those in the morning.  |

final scoring avg. for day 1. 75.32 Interesting. It made me think about all the talk about this being the toughest Open course. http://www.usopen.com/2006/scores/By my quick math the first round cumulative scoring last year at Winged Foot was 75.97. I'll double-check. |
