Man that sucks.  And I thought OKC had lousy grocery stores.  At least we have them.  Of course the Homeland's in the inner part of the city sound like the ones they describe.  Nasty displays with some expired food, bad service and scary customers.  It is ok if you need to pick up a few things otherwise we drive to Walmart or the burbs.

Dr. Klahn: The CIA thinks they can infiltrate the Mountain of Dr. Klahn!
CIA Agent: You can't scare me, you slant-eyed yellow bastard.
Dr. Klahn: Take him to... Detroit!
CIA Agent: No! No, not Detroit! No! No, please! Anything but that! No! No!

here we have 1 real store chain giant eagle-- about 93% market saturation...  as alternatives within the 'city', there are about 1 whole foods, 1 trader joes, 1 foodland, and eckerds/rite aids/etc .....  and outside the city limits a couple of walmarts, 2-3 shopnsaves, no supertargets.    i guarantee their margins run over 5% LOL.  the only time something is at 'national' price levels is when it's on sale "BOGO".   they also priced into the public 'consciousness' with their new fuelperks program-  for every $50 you spend in the store you get  $.10 off a gallon of gas at their own brand of gas stations. LMAO (and limit to 30 gallons per use)

We have Homeland which sucks.  Albertson's is nice but expensive and supposedly being sold.  The Crest by us is nasty too but the one in Edmond ($burb) is nice.  Edmond also has an Aldi but I've never been in there.  Oh yeah I almost forgot the Buy for Less which sucks big time for actual food.

Harris Teeter, Bi-Lo, Food Lion, Lowe's Food are all over; some smaller chain stores around and some one-offs, too.

Smiths, Albertsons, Super WalMart, Neighborhood WalMart, Target and a number of local chains.

But we have to go to the state liquor store for strong beer.  Can't have everything.

You hear about the merger of Big Star, The Piggly Wiggly, and Harris Teeter?
