Karma's a bitch
« on: March 10, 2009, 06:07:26 AM »

Last week we got the new TV. 3 days later (on Sat night) our HD receiver croaks. The new one should be here today. So for the past 2 days we have been stuck watching SD on this huge HD TV.

On a side note I will say that the SD picture is better on this tv then any other in the house.

what a nightmare

It was always tempting, when a kid is sleeping in a car seat, to step out and do a quick chore or whatever--run the groceries into the kitchen, go to the bathroom, etc.... all the while planning to go back to get the kid right away, and wrestle with the consequences of waking her up.

I never really did that, but I do remember being tempted to do so several times.  I mean, getting a kid sleeping and quiet can be a major victory.

But I was always too afraid to leave them alone like that, so I never did it.

In any event, I can completely understand why people do that, and why they'd get distracted and forget.

Yeah, I probably side on it being more criminal, than not.

At some level, it is neglect.  At some level, you just can't afford to allow yourself to ever be in the position to get distracted and forget you have your kid with you.

wrong thread

pretend this thread is about leaving a child in a hot car, not about a broken HD tuner
