lol. in general the answer is slow. slower than i would have it happen anyhow. i tried going pain med free the day before yesterday. lets just say it's not a good idea at this point.
got all my stitches and staples out this week by an intern, 16 of each, and lets just say she was no expert at it.
if she wasn't young and beautiful, i'd have put my good foot upside her head.
for those of you who don't frequent the other place any longer.
i've cut way down on the pain killers as my leg has started to heal. as i have done this, more things have started to show up.
funny what 7 or 8 thousand mg's of vicodin es will let you ignore.
turns out that i have a broken wrist.
as i have weaned myself off the drugs, my wrist has been getting more sore by the day. this also being aggravated by the fact that i am on crutches and having to put a lot of pressure on my arms and hands.
so now my right hand is in a splint, they tried to put a cast on it today, but i wasn't buying it. i got all my staples and stitches out today and can now take showers.
so there was no way i was going for a cast. the wrist probably won't require surgery, the immobilizing of it should give it a chance to heal. there is a piece of bone floating around in there,
but the doc said we won't worry about that right now.
i also have a pinched nerve in my right elbow that makes 2 fingers on my right hand numb. you know that funny bone nerve? that's the one.
this they say is probably going to require surgery to repair. not that big of a deal they say, make an incision at the elbow and just relocate the nerve.
all in all, i am getting around a lot better and in better spirits. just bored out of my freakin gourd. doc says another 2 to 4 weeks before i can walk on my leg. so i will be sleeping on the couch that much longer. stupid two story house.
so let's just say typing isn't my strong suit at the moment. thanks for asking.
