Ok, cool.  Favray does nothing here.  I don't think Dreamy does either.  I make no secret about being a Moss fan, but I'm not sure Tarvaris is seasoned enough to "use" him.  Having said that, I may trade AD for Moss, for the attempt at a deep threat.  Taylor has proven himself last year, and had some decent run games this year.

So, MVP......in team to team improvement?  I have to take Moss.  Here anyway.  Teams will vary of course.

Don't think of it like it's the draft or something.  Basically, just pick a franchise player that you'd like to build a franchise around.  If you could grab ONE player from elsewhere to build your expansion team around ... pick one.

Favre is definitely up there in my book, though I still have to go with either Brady or Moss if voting were today.

Brady's numbers are ridiculous right now.  I don't know how you can vote against him.  Before he had a receiving corps, people always talked about his game management, though there were those that wondered if he could ever put up the Peyton Manningesque numbers, even with a good batch of receivers.  What is it now, something like 45 TD / 5 Int.  His career avg. is something like 26 TD / 14 Int per year.  Can't stand the guy - though I'm a NE fan; the guy just always seems to be posing in front of the camera, like he's auditioning for another GQ cover. 

That said, Moss at 19 TD with 3 games left.  The guy made Daunte Culpepper look like he was an NFL quarterback.  He's making Brady look like Tavaris Jackson in one of Torp's Madden contests (sorry, Torp, I know a printscreen would prove this an overstatement).

Football is funny. You really only need to one player to have a mismatch in coverage on any given play, and the QB and the entire offense looks like the greatest to have ever played the game.

It may very well be more Moss than Brady.  Take away the 3-5 that are rushing Brady and the scheme behind the pass rushers is designed around Moss.   Throw in a decent #2, a good slot receiver, a good TE, RBs that can catch the ball, and it's tough not to look good - especially with today's offenses. 

There's the old argument about voting a WR the MVP - someone that touches the ball less than 10 times a game; whether Moss is deserving, I just can't see the voters going against that flow for Moss.

It kills me to do this, but I think it’s worth noting that Brady has had a year unlike anything I’ve ever seen. He’s done things at QB that no one has ever done. For years I’ve heard, and believed, that the Eagles pass-first-pass-often offense could not win in the long run because it’s just too difficult to pass on every down, and work the clock with a lead. Brady has absolutely blown that age-old truism out of the water. History is littered with great QB’s who didn’t have success because their team couldn’t run the ball; Marino and Fouts are prime examples, but even Elway and Farve have had years when they were forced to carry the offensive load and were unable to do so in the long haul. The Patriots have played with huge leads in 10 of 13 games, yet they’re still throwing the ball nearly 60% of the time. Brady has been able to control the clock and dominate games when EVERYONE knows he’s going to throw. The Steelers (a good team!) blitzed him on something like 30 of 46 pass plays and he just picked them apart on Sunday. I’ve been watching football since 1978 (that I can remember) and I’ve never seen anyone do the things that Brady is doing this season.

Add to that, the Pats are going to set the scoring record and the TD record. Brady already has the 3rd most TD passes in history and there are three games to play. He will break that record. He’s on pace to throw over 5000 yards. He’s having a record breaking season and he’s doing it undefeated. If he doesn’t win the MVP it will be an injustice in my mind.

No, I'm sure they didn't, especially Fouts. It was the Jim Kelly Bills in the 90's who really started using the no-huddle even when the game clock didn't dictate it.

FWIW, I have it on good authority that he's going to be offered a position in the Holy Trinity shortly after the season ends.  With what I've added to what my colleague from the North says, why the hell is Randy Moss even in this discussion?
