Punch Balls   Wow that game was very similar to the USC game.  I haven't seen our defense play so bad in a long time.  Granger was a big loss but I think the biggest loss was to the secondary.  Reggie Smith is one of the best DBs in college football and not having him and Lindy Holmes hurt bad.

But the offense was pretty much inept in the absence of DeMarco Murray (one of the fastest guys on our team) and Malcolm Kelly our best WR.

I will give credit to WV they played awesome though so hats off to them.  First team all year that was faster than us.

I also wonder about our O line blocking schemes.  We had no answer for their pass rush and no idea where it was coming from.  I wonder if losing Kevin Sumlin from the offensive coaching staff hurt us there.

I won't say fire Bob Stoops though because as tough as it is to lose 4 BCS games in a row at least we get there.

How about

Hire Mike Stoops back as Defensive coordinator.  Ever since he left our defensive has been beatable by the big play.  Fire Venables.

Could a good starting defensive tackle have turned the tide in the game?

I wondered how much his absence was felt as well.  WV ran for almost 9 yds / attempt.  Go ahead and give some kudos to WV for a good game, but 9 yds / attempt???  Mr. Stoops' boys were not ready to play.

yeh, but not much of that was up the middle.  hard to say what impact an elite DT would really command against speed edge running

If you can clog the middle with a good DT, you can cheat the LBs a little more to the perimeter or even bring up a safety for run stopping.

This game lends credence to the theory that Rodriguez tossed the Pitt game so he'd be able to take the Michigan job.  I'm absolutely stumped to think the same WVU team played in both games.

Coming out of the conference championship games, I was convinced OU was the best team in the country.

What a bizzaro season!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?Huh?Huh???!?Huh?Huh?Huh?Huh??!?Huh?Huh??

Craziness.  I thought this game would be lopsided the other way.
