How the iPhone Blew Up the Wireless Industry

Haven't read it all but it's pretty comprehensive.  Should be good.

Usually they're underlined and often in a different color.  When you click on them *feces* happens.

You're welcome.

I would say it really surprises me how dense and slow to change big companies are to change, but then I work for one so it's no surprise to me.

I swear Jobs could sell shoes to person with no legs, or life insurance to a corpse.

In retrospect, I caught (drunken) wind of this project in late 2005 from a member of the Cingular secretarial pool, at a cocktail party.

She was basically manic over the revolutionary aspects of the whole innovation thing.

At the time, she even she probably didn't know Apple was involved--

I'm delighted they got the carrier hands out of phone design and feature clamps.

Its a really nice product that was long overdue for the industry (because of carrier ineptitude).

But I still think the at&t deal is too long at 5 years.  I foresee a 75% chance of problems between Apple and at&t before year 3 is over.

Agreed - whole heartedly.  The phone is pretty cool.  I thought about buying one, though am typically not an early adopter, nor was I willing to convert to at&t.  That's a whole lot of new money for both parties.
