i thought it would be a good (yet hard) choice for a 'figure it out'  deal... so that when it was determined people could read that maybe a good CO2  sequestration  method  might start to be developed.

I never took organic chemistry, and I was teh sukk at even acids and bases in 2nd semester chemistry.


yes, just the position on the ring where the bonds form (aka replacing the hydrogen atoms).



I see. The numbers seem to apply only to the central ring that the other rings radiate out from, but not the radiating rings themselves.

yup.  then that total formula unit repeats in space like a 'polymer' to form a nice crystal.
