Weather fronts moving through will often encourage movement and feeding of game.  Had you kept fishing you may very well have done even better.

We had been fishing from 4:00 PM to 1:30 AM already. Grin But your right. Smiley

It's rather funny that we didn't even start fishing until 5:45 or so considering we were at the lake by 4:30. Undecided Cheesy

Mmmmmm, filleted crappie, lightly breaded (with a little dry mustard in the bread crumbs) and deep-fried in a cast iron skillet.

Delicious. Grin

We typically lightly bread the fish then pan-fry.  Lemon and/or ketchup on the side.  Yummy, indeed.

Back when my two boys were little, and I still ice-fished, I loved getting into yellow perch.  Brought them home, did the filet thing and then the fry thing in the iron skillet (about a half inch of oil).  The kids loved them.

Aww, the memories. Grin

That's how Chels and Garrett are now.  We (just Dad, Kev, and me) went out again last night, and we have another dozen or so that I should get to soon.

Mentioning perch and ice fishing brings back one especially great memory for me.  There was one really nice, sunny day when my grandfather, dad, Kev, and I were out.  A huge school was moving through, and every time we could get our line in the water, we'd be bringing one up.  It was so much fun!  We hit our limit (99) that day, then caught one more so we could catch that 100th one then threw it back in. Cool
