It's been sunny with mild, spring-like temperatures for the past week or more. We could use some rain or clouds to break up the monotony.

I understand that Cedar Rapids is flooding pretty bad. All the bridges over the river are closed. My dad says they are seeing the worst flooding in a very long time. We still have relatives that live up there. The river is not expected to crest until Friday. The Mississippi is also expected to rise quite a bit over the next 10 days or so.

Very bad deal for Pigfart. Floods are expected to eclipse the '93 records. Shocked GP Jr. is living in DM and the rivers in downtown are flowing OVER some of the bridges.

And, this from the StL. Post Dispell:
Quote
The Army Corps of Engineers announced the closure of several locks beginning Thursday at Illinois City, Ill., and southward to Winfield, Mo., by Tuesday. Spokesman Ron Fournier said the locks could be closed for two weeks depending on flood conditions.
That's about 250 miles! Yikes!

Golly... just what we need. Another contributor to higher costs of food and fuel.  Devil
