I Guess I Just Don't Like People.

I was working my way though several good cell phone rants, and then it hits me.

First:  I watching all these people on the damn things.  Walking out of the building.  Driving into the parking lot.  Sitting at lunch. All *goshdarn* day.  Every *goshdarn* day.  One thought seems to keep reverberating through my mind. 

Who the *fudge* are you talking to??!!

I don't have a cell phone.  Even if I did (I will get an iphone at some point, but I guarantee when I get it I will use it more to surf here than anything else.) I wouldn't want to talk to anybody.  I talk to enough people as it is.  When I did have one, I put about 4 minutes a month on it.

Mike:    Bye.

I mean what, am I gonna call my BFF at lunch to see what's going on?  Call my long lost Uncle Earl to catch up on my drive home?  I know!  I'll try to be the 11th caller on KS95 to try to win Miley Cyrus tickets.

I use only a fraction of my minutes each month.  I DO use the cell to catch up with my folks, as I've never been that good about calling regularly.  If I'm driving a ways (highway trip) or walking the dogs around a park someplace where they don't need close supervision, I'll throw the headset on and chat with my mom or dad for a half-hour.

Other than that, *fudge* all y'all.

Unless I'm doing my math wrong (and I probably am) that means I average approximately 9 minutes per day on my phone. I use this phone for work and personal calls. I have a phone at my desk, but no land line at home. *fudge* talking on the phone.

My 17 year old sister in law came to visit over the weekend. I bet 10 whole minutes didn't pass the entire weekend without her talking on the phone or sending a text message.

My average cell phone useage per month is about 2000 minutes +/-.

I average another 2500 minutes or so on the phone from the office.

By the of the day Friday, I do not answer another phone call unless it's my wife calling me - sometimes I avoid her calls as well.  I live on the phone and email. 

While I hate the phone, I hate email worse  .

The half of the phone conversations I heard typically consisted of: "Okay mom  ... alright mom  ... I won't mom  ... no mom  ... no mom  ... I will mom  ... no, I don't want to talk to... hi dad  ... no dad  ... I'm not dad  ... alright dad  ... I won't dad  ... no I don't want to talk to... hi again mom  ... no mom  ...."
