M. Good for you. Awesome.
I've only been to two big league games.
One as a kid in the early 80's at the MetroDome, and another in Blatimore where our outing was cut short. Shirts off, beers, the whole nine yards. Not the first time and certainly no the last I heard the phrase "We're gonna need you to leave...." LOL The best was at a strip club!!! LMAO OMG I gotta tell you that story.
So the Twins make the Series in '87 but I head to Basic in September. Never saw a game. Did 4 years, and damn if they don't make the series again in '91. Perfect! I'm set to get out in September but it seems due to some Montgomery County, Maryland court ordered ........errr, orders in Maryland they didn't want me actually leaving the State until November.
*fudge*.
Anyhoo The Pohlads and the State of Minnesota force a new stadium down the throats of the taxpayers, set to open the spring after I move to California. Oh, well. My daughter got to go to a game and had a blast. Twins beat the Yanks 3-2.
I'll get back one day.

So this is a good thing?
This has only happened 21 times in over 100 seasons of at least 16 teams playing at least 154 games a year, so it's a pretty big deal. Not for the Mariners. There is that, though. You would MUCH rather one of your own Cy Young capable pitchers did it, but still pretty damn cool.

You should come up, seriously. PLENTY of good seats available. I do bleachers for 13 bucks on a weeknight, which has to be one of the greatest bargains in the world.
