Nope, I've just been away for that long.

Hmm, it could be...  There were two others that have stretched out quite awhile, but maybe not quite long.

Took you 8 months to make your next move? Is this the longest chess game in history?

Well, at first I just wanted to spend less time on the computer.  There were a lot of books I wanted to read too.  Then I started running the sound system at church, although that doesn't account for much time that I wouldn't already be there.  Much of late summer and early fall weekends were spent at my aunt's while they were traveling.  My maternal grandma has been there since her hospital stay in May, and her recovery just hasn't been very smooth.  (That was so nice to have time with her.  It's been over 8 years since I've had such a time.)  So weekdays were catch up days at that point.  I volunteered at a local Christian radio station during there Sharathon.  (That was so much fun!  Been wanting to for a few years, but this is the first year it worked out.)  Lately, I've also been working on the our church's website, and some extra meetings and things for that as well.  We've been trying to include more family fun times and such, too.

All that to say, time has kind of gotten away from me.  Still have some things to do, but I'm gonna try to stop by more often again.

Well, he's been doing a little bit for the church website as well.  He spent several weekends hunting.  Oh, and he's also been armchair coaching for the Vikes.
