If I'm close enough to engage in hand to hand combat with a knife I prefer to whip out my hand gun and pistol whip my foe.

Unless it's Prokrop's dad.

I hear he's a tough sumbitch to knockdown.

The knife is too small to be much of protection so I might have to start carrying a small derringer, too, or my dad may never let me leave  my yard by myself....
Derringer schmerringer.  I spray my wife with contact adhesive and then roll her in broken glass, used syringes, and printouts of tennisbumbishop's equipment threads.  A potent combination, it keeps the troublemakers at bay, I think.

Used to all the time and did everyday last year when deployed.  However, now days it seems it is hit and miss and if I do it is a regular 2 blade shrade.  I do have several different ones in sheaths that when I hunt, one is on the belt.

The only knife I carry is in my golf bag.  I never know when I'll have to take down and dress an elk on the course.  Or defend myself from a raging mother black bear when she feels her cubs are threatened.

I suppose I could carry a 357, but then there wouldn't be much room for anything else in my purse....

And I must say, I feel so sorry for your wife.  You won't even protect yourself, you make her protect you.  Sad
