On the other hand, a few would be ridiculous to walk (Solider Hollow Gold and The Ranches).
A couple that I've walked, but probably wouldn't do it again: Old Mill (the hike between 8 & 9 is particularly nasty), Bountiful Ridge, Eaglewood...

http://sports.espn.go.com...&source=ESPNHeadlinesWoods described himself as a "minimalist" designer and repeatedly said he didn't expect to move a lot of dirt during construction.
Woods and The Cliffs owner Jim Anthony said they wanted High Carolina to be a walking-only course during the news conference. Afterward, Woods clarified they'll "strongly encourage" golfers to walk but won't require it.

Down here in Dallas there are very few courses you would want to walk in the summer, most have the long trek between holes and at 105* any walking is a chore. Luckily elevation change is virtually non existent here. I love to walk as it gives me time to enjoy the course, riding in a cart turns on the NASCAR driver in me and I want to speed to the next stop. I completely miss the course.

Never played on a walking only course but that would be great. I prefer to walk too and do unless it is over 100°. Our muni's are fairly easy to walk.

Yes I have. When I was a kid, all the courses were walking only.
When I joined my club, one of the requirements was that the course was walkable and that I could walk whenever I want.

I'm curious to see how Tiger manages to build a walking-only course at The Cliffs. That's not exactly flat land from what I can tell. They said that young Jack built courses that only he could play; Tiger will build a course that only he can walk.
I've played a few walking only courses, although in all cases they were pretty highly ranked classic courses and not new constructions. I walk whenever possible, so I'm fine with policies like that.

It would have been interesting to see if could have stuck with it.
