Our house is one of those that is "The Keeper Of The Mailboxes". Not my choice, which is part of the post explained later.
We have a cluster of four mailboxes (for you folks playing at home in Australia, they are probably called
Post Receptacles or some *feces* like that.) And then a few house down, someone gets the same honor.(honour)
So, down our front yard, and then the side walk, and then another 4 foot strip of grass, and that's where this mailbox conglomerate is. If you guys don't have this set up, and can't picture it, I can illustrate it. It's quite common up here.
Anyhoo. This set up is on two large 6x6 posts, close to the street pain in the ass to mow around. I got wise, and put in some landscape edging, about 3x6 rectangle, nicely framing it, and filled it with mulch. Rocks are too messy, and don't look that good. YMMV Went with the coco brown mulch, because the cedar red is so played.......please.
I get home today, and something just caught my eye. I said, why is there mulch kicked out onto the grass? Brown on green is an easy spot (although apparently not an easy pick up!
huh? See what I did there?
)from other incidences.
Curious, I walk down to see what's the dealio. Readying my tirade for any of the kids that are surely responsible, including my own progeny(R).
When I get down, to my amazement, the mulch out on the grass,
was the only mulch left!! WTF? Someone actually stole
the mulch. Oh, important note. The mulch had been there for four years.
Who steals 4 year old mulch?
Is this where we're at? Is this what Bush has driven us to? What's next?
Oh, good times. Good times.
