I agree with the significance of Obama seeming "angry". Sadly.

Another reason was just posted by Aske.

I saw some of this from Chuck Todd this morning. The numbers are starting to look bad for McCain. Staying above the fray right now is probably best.

Plus right now it seems like it's one WTF? moment a day from the McCain-Palin camp. Everyone can't wait to see the next clip from the Katie Couric interview.

But mostly, I suspect they do this because their polling told them that being an uppity negro wasn't going to do him any good, at all. Period.  No Mr. Tibbs moments for this one, nuh-uh.

You saved me from typing since this was what I was going to say until I got to the above line.  I'm not sure about uppity, but angry...they don't want to be angry. Obama doesn't need to appeal to people like us. He needs to appeal to people who, let's face it, are a little scared of black people. Those people are really afraid of angry negoes, even more than uppity ones, imo.

Man those Negoes are the worst!

Sorry, Teed, no offense intended.  The lower case is a bad habit from a little satire thing I'm attending to on a semi occasional basis out there on the intergoogles.  In it, I lower case unimportant words like negroes, muslims, jews, mexicans, and cetera, reserving the upper case for the Truly Important Words, like Christians, Republicans, and so on and so forth.

Hey, that was my spelling.

Everyone knows that "negroes" is offensive, sir.
