Wine Recom.
« on: November 26, 2008, 05:24:36 PM »

so we had a bottle of this sitting around that i've been "cellaring" as best as possible until tonight.
absolutely amazing... certainly at its peak.  the cherry and anise in particlar stand out on the palate and bouquet. if you can find a bottle for under $80, I might guess it's your best bet for a red right now.

No , I was pretty big on wine "connoisseuring" well before.  just have about 20 bottles aging out that this was the first to be opened in celebration of anything.   I can't afford to spend up except on special occasions. (that said, I bought it for less than $25 5 years ago)

Sideways and my total unabashed man-love for Paul Giamatti aside, I actually like a good merlot.
