so we tried to get reservations @ our 'new years eve' place, Green Forest. A Brazilian steakhouse. apparently, we tried too late so we then searched on msn citysearch for other ideas. came across a highly reviewed place we had never been ... 17th St. Cafe. they had an opening @ 930, which seemed to fit our needs. and the menu looked good .. http://joyce.1ezsite.net/...e/18bf9/Menus/Dinner.htmlso we headed out about 750 last night to get on the 1st bus, and then we got off of it and took our transfer. it was running late, but we managed to get off at carson and 17th at 9.28. which was perfect. 2 minutes to go 1/2 a block and keep our reservation. walked in right on time, and got our table. the place turned out to be a lot smaller, older, and cozier than we imagined it to be. which was great! they had some bread basket to start, and we got the A by Acacia 2005 Pinot Noir to wash our food down with. I had new york sirloin with a portabella butter sherry sauce, and sicilian potatoes. Sal had a crab stuffed veal dish with a side of pasta marinara. For dessert, I had a warm brownie with raspberry sauce, and she had strawberry cheesecake. The service was excellent, friendly, and fast. We ended up tipping 25% because the evening was excellent in every way. Highly recommended if you're ever in the Burgh PNF just crapped his pants!!

Let's see it started off with a super service at church. Then out to lunch with my Sunday School group. Then home for the afternoon & evening. By midnight I was looking at baby blanket crochet patterns. Woke up to a nice layer of snow on the ground and went sledding.

We actually celebrated Christmas with my parents, brother, his wife and my nephew.
Stayed up with my daughter who desperately wanted to ring in her first New Year's - she made it!
Plus my brother gave me a bottle of Irish Whiskey and my folks broke open their liquor cabinet. We had a pretty nice evening with a few drinks and solving the world's problems.

Quiet gathering at friend's place who have kids the same age. Watched Rhianna class up *8==>*'s show with a humpity humpity version of whatever carboncopy hit she has running. Couple more rap acts ensued, so I got drunk on beer and liqueur to numb it away. woot.
