Never took shop class. I probably would have cut off my hand or something. I always took art instead. I made a pretty sweet ceramic ashtray too.

Three years in high school and a year of college before I realized sitting at a drafting table all day long totally blew. Short - yes. Stocky - yes. Funny (looking) - yes. Blading - no, 550Cs.

Girls were not allowed to take shop class at my school - it was Home Ec all the way. Learned important girl skills: Correct shampooing techniques, performing guest introductions and making white sauce and baking powder biscuits. Didn't get to make cool stuff with a Bridgeport until my college years doing research. Did 4H as Fuzzy said earlier - one year my sheep raising neighbor and I traded county fair duties: I sewed him a pinstripe suit which he HAD to model in the runway show and I got to SHOW a sheep in the livestock arena.

I dunno Suz.....I kinda liked the When I saw that I called her immediately for two reasons: to congratulate her on joining in the the fun and using smileys to enhance her post and to tell her that the "humping" smiley in a post that references sheep may not be what she wanted with this crowd. She thought it was something completely different.

As always I am excited and proud to bring this aspect to any GolfHos discussion. I made a 2 foot bong. Drilling it out was not easy but I finally finished it. I (remember now this is 1979) convinced the shop teacher that it was a small Australian aboriginal didgeridoo and I showed him a picture of said instrument. Note: Not the actual picture Seamus showed Mr. Wackamole in 1979 but a fair rendition there of.Girls were not allowed to take shop class at my school it was Home Ec all the way. Coincidently I also took home ec, after "playing" the didgeridoo at the "smoking stump" I got to go bake cupcakes, besides home ec was the best class, I think my senior year it was me, one other dude and 29 chicks. To this day I can't see a didgeridoo without getting cotton mouth and the munchies.

I made fun of the shop teacher with the hare-lip. He kicked my ass, literally. Amazing what teachers were able to do to students in those days here in flyover 'Merka'.
