WASHINGTON – An impatient White House served notice Tuesday on banks and other financial companies receiving billions of dollars in federal help to quit hoarding the money and start making more loans.

"What we're trying to do is get banks to do what they are supposed to do, which is support the system that we have in America. And banks exist to lend money," White House press secretary Dana Perino said.

Though there are limits on how much Washington can pressure banks, she noted that banks are regulated by the federal government.

"They will be watching very closely, and they're working with the banks," she said.

The banks need to make sure that there will be enough cashish to pay out year-end bonuses before they make any loans. They wouldn't want to ruin their employees' pagan winter celebration of consumerism now, would they?

LOL, I was just watching Andrew Cuomo on Donnie Deutsch. Cuomo said he's looking into why AIG has taken 25 billion dollars from The Gubment and is now getting ready to pay it out in bonuses.

Deutsch's little sidekick tried to say that the 25 billion dollar in bonus money might be 'Different Money' from the 25 billion  they took from the Gubment.

Cuomo and Deutsch pretty much looked like the guy had shat right upon the floor in front of them...

The bonuses would reportedly range from around $100,000 for a lower-level employee to over $1 million for senior employees. Experts have said the payouts will be plumper than they would have been in such a disastrous year because of the taxpayer money flowing into the institutions.

Financial personnel experts have said the bonuses were necessary to retain top talent.

That is just nauseating.
