The most interesting part of the (phony) conversation is when Palin says that Sarkozy "added a lot of energy" to his country by marrying a former model. Is this admission that she herself was added to the ticket solely based on looks to "energize the base"?

No.  Forget for the moment that she is a victim of a prank call, and listen to what she actually says in that recording.  It is the intellectual equivalent of the brain freeze you get from slurping down an icy too fast.

It is past the time to stop analyzing the things Palin says,  as her utterances are nothing more than a primitive auditory reflex.  In other words, her mouth basically serves the function of channeling the random signals encoded within the background microwave radiation, like a TV that is set to a channel untuned to a broadcast station.  When it opens, one must anticipate just about anything can spill out. 

She is, for all intents and purposes, an ignorant 100% Grade A ditz.
