Sooo, speaking of pain in the back
« on: November 05, 2008, 02:13:21 PM » |

Tomorrow I get to have a long needle, the length of my arm the diameter of stroh's fleshlights, stuck in my back to completely disqualify from ever playing professional sports ever. By this time tomorrow I will be doped up on 'roids and wondering why my voice suddenly got higher. Better living through chemistry!

I don't have to. I'm being put under for it. I get to get my drunk on at 9:00 in the morning.

So are you having an epidural steroid injection (because you used the word needle) or are you actually having a laproscopic discectomy? (because of the size you described)

Epidural Steroid Injection. I have no idea how big a needle or what they are going to do. They are going to knock my ass out and have their way with me. (insert random moon river reference and ghey dr pron via Clive joke here)
At least I get a day off from work.

Good luck. It's really a surprisingly simple procedure(I used to do them) with often great results.
You may need more than one. Usually 3 in one year. Nor more than three. Studies have shown that too much of the steroid DepoMedrol can be damaging to cartilage structures elsewhere in your body.
'Sides if you ain't fixed after 3, you need more invasive treatment.

Everyone seems to think I'll only need one. I have no damage that can be seen on the MRI.

I hear Aliens perform the same procedure.

You will be fine, if Darla can give birth to your children, you will have no problem with a "little injection". Good Luck.
