Does anybody else find it a tad disorienting...

to listen to a woman doing play by play in a football game?
I'm not saying it's 'Bad' or 'Wrong', just that it's unusual.
That said, she does a GREAT job, better than 90 pct of the hacks out there.

Robin Roberts for ESPN usually does a college game.
Like I said, it's a little weird, but she has a very nice, understated style and definitely appears to know her *feces*.

There was a woman doing play by play for the Gopher-Michigan game on ESPN today.* Pam Ward IIRC. *perhaps this was the game MFAWG was watching because she wasn't bad at all.

I heard Linda Cohen say something that was interesting.
She said that when doing highlights for baseball she has heard a male co-host say that a team was down by a touchdown if the score was like 7-0 or 10-3.
She was always leery of saying the same thing because as a woman there would be a large segment of the male viewership that would automatically think, 'what an idiot chick. she doesn't know the difference between baseball and football'.

I'm sure it would be more disorienting if you heard me doing it quite the contrary, I like reading your play by plays, unfortunately the voice I hear is kind of like this Xerxes fella.

Years ago they had a female commentator for the cricket here. It was always going to be a difficult proposition, what with all the crotch grabbing and polishing of the ball. Needless to say she was always lost for words when Dennis Lillee, or Thommo were giving the ball a work out
