Wishing it was nice enough to cut the grass, and think I should be playing golf instead.
Meh. I'm at work. Probably a quiet weekend with a few beers here and there.

Darla and I are sitting here listening to the wind howl between the cracks of the frond door (because I still haven't hung the trim after 4 years) and she says:
"You are hanging that *goshdarn* trim!"
So we are going to go grocery shopping.

All day, until I can't skate anymore, or drink too much beer to. Not that I would ever drink beer in a public park on a sunny afternoon, because that would be illegal, see.

We don't have pay to play skateparks, so it's free.
I'm just waiting for the skateshop to open. I need new bearings.

Sweet. So that's just a park that's open to the public? We don't have anything like that where I live. Just some small city deals where they put up a small ramp about a foot and a 1/2 high, and about a 10 foot long pipe about 6 inches off the ground.

When i grew up in Jacksonville i lived at the skate park. The had pools, half pipes, everything.
But even back then it was like 3 bucks an hour or 20 bucks all day.

Yup, just a park open to the public. Private parks have much bigger liability issues is one reason. That ones about 3 blocks from Hovel MFAWG, but (trying to think) there are 6 or 7 more within a 20 mile radius. This guys website has 'em all listed, most with pics. He's also been instrumental in getting some of them built by working with local communities. http://www.northwestskater.com/ I can't tell you how many times the skatepark is packed, while the ballfields, tennis courts and B-Ball courts lay empty under burning lights.

The wife and I recently discovered this skate park. We occasionally take the kids to the playground at one corner of the larger surrounding park. I have no idea if this is considered a good skate park or not, but you can get a feel for the size based on the nearby baseball field and the basketball courts. I see "kids" of all ages there, and some of the younger ones bring their Razor scooters. I'm sure the hardcore skate rats shun the scooter kids. LOL

Our city built this park about a year ago. Some local kids. We also have a skate shop just up the road. One or two of the boys are interested.

Heading back to the drawing board on our new entryway. 6 weeks later we finally have the design people, the manufacturer, and the installer on the same page. I think. So we're going to go reorder, which puts us another 6-8 weeks out. So much for having it before Christmas. After that, we're making different batches of homemade Irish Cream to do the Pepsi challenge to determine which variety we will be using for gifts this year. Word on the street is that Canadian whiskey tastes better than Irish whiskey. But then do we have to call it Canadian Cream? Somehow I don't think bourbon will be very good, but we're going to try it anyway, because... well just because. I'll let you know the results.

While you're at it try different flavo(u)rs of liquor (vodka, gin, rum, schnapps). If you're expirimentin' and all, may as well go for broke. By the fourth or fifth you may not know the diff anyway.
