My $0.02.

In the years I have been on this planet it's been given to 20 QB's, 22 RB's, 2 WR's, 1 CB. So I hate when they call it the award for the best college football player. It's the award for the QB or RB who puts up the gaudiest stats. Sometimes it's a close race like this year.

Considering the hit rate of college football players making the NFL in general I'd hesitate to call it a jinx. Especially when it's limited to the QB's and RB's. But it's a college award and not a "who's the best NFL prospect award" so in that sense it works.

But it is true since 1988 it hasn't produced a real stand out NFL player.

LOL I'm not talking about what winning the trophy does to the player's career. I'm talking about what winning the trophy does to the player's team during bowl games. IOW, Walfredo must be pissed right now.

LOL  I read it the way Fuzzy did.  Good article yesterday on MSN about all the Heisman NFL busts.

It will be interesting to see what happens to Oklahoma.

It's funny how different skillsets/etc  translate from NCAA to NFL.

Oh I'm *goshdarn* pissed.

I think it may jinx us in the BCS championship.  That and the pressure of making up for our recent BCS losses.  Although this team is much better than those past teams.

And Sam will be a very good NFL QB IMO.
