i hate christmas !!!!

i'm sorry, it's the way it is. not only that, gets worse every year. most children, mine included, feel they are "owed" whatever their little hearts desire no matter the cost.
i remember the christmas of my youth. where typically you would receive one present and then clothes. and that one present, no matter what it was, was like a gift from god. the sense of entitlement from todays youth is disheartining (is that a word?).
but it is not just that. i hate all the commotion. got go here, there, everywhere. see people i genuinely don't care for, and act like i do.
i could really live without the whole mess and never miss it.

I really have to agree, for the most part. We have an 8 t/o daughter, and we hear the same things.
We will attempt to bring some humility back into her on Christmas eve, and Day, by beating her over the head with peace, love, spirit, think of the less fortunate, etc.
When it's actually Christmas, I do kinda get caught up in the magic.

Commercialism at its finest -- it starts Dec 26th for next year. Still love the season and am kind of glad I'm in Europe this year -- we haven't been hit hard with many commercials.

No toys for ours this time in the usual numbers. Kids get so much stuff it isn't their fault that they don't/can't appreciate it all. Grandparents that live overseas adds to it.
Instead this year they get to sponsor kids in third world places.
