Well, anymore than i already have.
You can't possibly imagine how bad things have gotten here in the last 6 months. There is almost no chance i will ever work in the auto industry again. In the last 5 years 75% of the auto suppliers in town have either gone out of business or moved operations to Mexico. With yesterdays announcement From Chrysler it's only going to get worse. I see many ads that are asking for a degree and 5 years of experience and pay 13.00 an hour. Local businesses like restaurants and stores are closing at an alarming rate.
Because of the situation the auto, banking and realty industries are in it has adversely affected virtually every other industry or business. Due to the way our state law is i am not allowed to attend school while collecting unemployment. pure *goshdarn* genius.
At this point I would leave this state in a heart beat, really. Unfortunately, i could never sell my house. The house kitty corner across the street just sold for 50,000 another down the street for 46,000. I mortgaged 90,000 13 years ago and took out a second 3 years later to put on an addition. i currently owe about 120,000. I was making 75k at the time.
I'm sorry but walking away isn't the way i roll.
In the last month i have applied for a job in a production bakery, several custodian positions and maintenance positions without a single response. I have 10 weeks of unemployment left. Even the *goshdarn* mexicans are leaving. That's how bad it has gotten.
