LMAO I don't know why all those little Apple fanboys want Ballmer to be wrong about Chrome OS. If Google's "the web is the platorm" paradigm succeeds, then it's a threat to all companies in the traditional computer OS business--not just Microsoft. The biggest roadblock to wide-adoption will be connectivity, and that's something that Google has no control over. Assuming a technology utopia in which the global infrastructure gets to the point where connectivity won't ever be an issue, then it's an issue of how sophisticated an application can be using HTML/Javascript. Even with HTML 5 in the equation, applications are going to be severely limited IMHO. But think about this. Let's assume ubiquity of reliable connectivity and consensus in a robust HTML 5 standard for the sake of argument. Given this scenario, what kind of applications are really the most threatened--a sophisticated business application suite like MS Office or those crappy little iPhone apps that Apple is peddling?

Ballmer looks like he'd be entertaining to hang out with. Eric Schmidt looks like a tool and Jobs would probably just look at me condescendingly the whole time. I just saw a story about Microsoft opening up retail stores. Should be interesting. Microsoft plans stores 'right next door to Apple'http://www.sfgate.com/cgi.../financial/f172652D33.DTL

Will Microsoft be selling Microsoft products, or refreshments to keep people hydrated while they wait in line to get in the Apple Store?
Now that was funny.
