Kaspersky Internet Security 6 Mini-Review
« on: December 27, 2006, 08:37:50 AM »

wow, I'm impressed with K. Internet Security 2006 suite.

I had been debating ditching Norton a long time, but with all those rebates, big box discount prices, product familiarity...   we stuck with it one last time to get  our new desktop going... the 2007 version did seem to offer a smaller footprint, didn't delay bootup, etc...  but often crashed out or locked the system up when opening other Norton applications  Huh? Angry Angry  (combine this with an order issue I had with them and their 2 hour hold to speak to an Indian rep....  ugh)

well, from this day forth,  we're going with Kaspersky  i think.  Setup is a breeze, install is small,  footprint is light.. and the options are great.  It also caught  4 'risk-ware'  items that neither spysweeper, norton, pestpatrol, adaware, etc  caught.

They also offer hourly updates (although the update server is* painfully slow), which is reassuring in this mad mad internet std world...

The catch-  no rebates to be found, and a very expensive license ($80).
