2007 Planned Hoin' and Other Equipment Related Changes

As an extension to SpaceA's ALL TWGT, ALLDATIME thread, what are your planned changes? I never plan these things but have a pretty good idea what new pieces of gear will need my evaluative talents. LOL
1. Accra new shafts for 2007. There will be a new full lineup in the Tour/SC/SE mode so I'm obligated to chop up a few. 2. Epon 460 driver head. I'm gonna name mine "NapalmU2MF" 3. 52/58 wedges - something grindable as I intend to learn alittle more about the art of wedge grinding. 4. I have Tour Edge driver/4w/7w on the way...don't ask. The 4w should be a fun experiment as I've never owned the FW's in this series. 5. MOI matching. I had a Speedmatch machine in the Dynoabode but it was faulty so may rig up a homemade MOI counter. 6. A new hybrid to replace nerdsimmon's SMT.

This is the year of Money Is No Object For Persimmon. In that vein:
- same driver; - same fairway wood; - same irons; and - same wedges (probably).
+ New hybrid, if that tool Dyno would get off his drunken, gangsta-talking ass and give me one for free. (*)
+ Swap out current putter for previous putter. (Current putter was given a good 2-years-plus to prove itself.)
+ Demo HPG wedges and possibly knock Vokeys out.
(*) ... but I do hope he places a moral value on his time. I'd had to see him not maximize karmic profits.

Assuming I like the changes I'm making with the all TWGT bag, and the main bag becomes my back up bag, I'll be changing everything except the putter and maybe the wedges. If I end up not liking Wishon's new wedge offerings, I'll either pick up some Wishon PCFs or I might just stick with the Maltby M Series, though if I do they'll definitely need new shafts.
I'm swapping the Fail Safe driver in my current (soon to be back up) bag for an Infiniti ProPulsion 460.
As for the free hybrid for Persimmon, I'm wondering how you're planning to maximize your profits while attempting to secure his repeat non-paying business. I'm not an economist, but I'd like to see a business plan if you have one.

I will have to set the price after determining whether your market force will intersect with my need for another 6-pack. Beyotch. Built a 785HF for a local teaching pro and he calls it his 'magic wand'. He's never waved either of his wands at me thankfully. I bent the hosel a degree flatter to try to keep it alittle to the fade side.
SpaceA. Alot of the guys on the TWGT forum fawn over the PCF's but I personally think they are egglikeugly. I use either the Accra or Tour Concept for my wedge shafts and don't plan on changing.
I did own a Propulsion 440 but never shafted it as the face and lie angles were all wrong. oh well...I do like Eric's product. They consistently make good performing heads at a very fair price.

Any forecasting as to market penetration would at this point, of course, be premature. But seriously, yo: I am flush with cash, jewelry, magic beans, and S&H green stamps. That *feces*'d buy you a *goshdarn* castle in The Vanc.

I don't plan on any changes to equipment.
I plan to revisit the wisdom of a good friend. He passed it on to me years ago, as I was pleading my case for a new 3 wood.
"Dude,........ instead, why don't you learn to hit the one you already *fudge*in' own? You're an idiot assclown and you're away *8==>*face."

What, specifically, do you think is ugly about them? I've never seen one in person but the pics look nice. I quite like the Maltbys I'm using now, but at the very least I need a shaft which will give me a higher launch.

I actually have a DGSL X100 I tried untipped into my 785 and it worked great but was just a tad stout. Was a one-off experiment....might work for you and I think it'll fit your 'budget', Mr Helmsley.

That's a more direct approach than used by most but I suppose his point is clear.

I quite like the Maltbys I'm using now, but at the very least I need a shaft which will give me a higher launch. They are very round....like a tiny pan to fry quail eggs. The Maltby is alittle more teardrop and are quite nice except the sole grind doesn't turn my crank...alittle flat on the bottom. I like the shape of Vokey Raw....about ideal. Wishon has a new wedge coming out....I'd wait until then at least. Lots of soft tip shafts to choose from and all work pretty good in a wedge. Dynalite, Spinner, Accra all might help. Hitting a low wedge though is a good thing. The softer tip shaft is more for flex feel than launch control.

Now that I look at the pics again, they are quite round at address. I was planning on waiting for the CX Micros before I made a decision anyway. Thanks for the feedback.

I'm going to replace the 5 iron with a hybrid. Got the Innovex 3&4 RLS hybrids and will add the 5. other than maybe some weight changes in the Mentor Sports Triad putter don't see a lot more changes at this time.

Can't hurt to have that option. I'm just warming up to hybrids and the biggest key in any success I've had was to reduce the length to match that of the irons. I cut my #3 Hybrid to 1/4" longer than 4iron and am reasonably pleased. If anything I could cut it the same length and still maintain the distance gap. Coincidentally I'm rockin' the Duet and use it as a belly putter with a 380g headweight. Might have to cut it down as alittle fat found it's way from my head to my gut

Plans, for me, include: 1. New driver. The one I liked the best, I gave away to a friend, and the replacements haven't made me happy. 2. Maybe a long putter, since my putting SUCKS. 3. If the driver works out, I might not need the 5-iron to hit out from underneath trees . That would make way for a 5-hybrid. I love my 3 and 4 hybrids. 4. Some lessons to make better use of the stuff I've got. The main thing will be finding enough time to practice and play.
