the winner of this game is really, supposedly, a top 10 team worthy of the mighty Rose Bowl legacy ? Know much about the Rose Bowl? It's the Pac10 winner against some other team, deserving or not. That's the way God intended it, and I'd like to say '*fudge* You Very Much' to the BCS AND whoever the jackasses were that forgot that for a few years.

I heard Rome ask along time ago: 'How many times can you see USC or Arizona get there azz kicked by Michigan or Ohio State?' The answer is 'Once a year, on New Years Day'.

LOL.....for teams like Minnesota up here the holy grail has always been the Rose Bowl. I honestly think some boosters would rather go there than play for the National Championship in a made-up bowl. The BCS has completely *fudge*ed New Year's day. I had my routine!!!!!! Wake up, greasy breakfast, hair of the dog, Cotton Bowl.........Rose Bowl.......and then flipping back and forth between the Orange and Sugar Bowls. Good times.........

We used to go to my aunt's house in Vancouver, Wa. for New Years.
We would all watch the parade, then the wimminfolk would go upstairs with the 'Little Ones' and henpeck, the tweens would go to the playroom or outside (sometimes an event like roller skating) and the menfolk would sit in the basement den and watch The Game.
And that's what it was: THE Game. There were some 'Other Games', and those would get watched as well, but we were there for that one.
It was a BIG deal when you were deemed old enough to stay and watch with the menfolk. I recall having my first FULL beer there (or at least the first full one my mom knew about).
Texas-Michigan is a nice Cotton Bowl, and a GREAT game.
But it ain't a *goshdarn* Rose Bowl.
