I had to be at work at 7am this morning, so all we did last night was watch Blade Runner and go to bed early.

At a party with a bunch of other people, drinks, streamers, noisemakers, the works. It was fun.

I was asleep by 11:00. Fell asleep watching the Bears attempt at playing football.

Played games with the wife and kids while watching a little NFL. Around 2330 we left and went to a nice high point that gives a spectacular view of Wiesbaden and Mainz and watched the entire German country side light up with fireworks until about 0030. Then to the house and to bed!

I leave it for you to elaborate. But I thought that this was for the actual moments of the turning of the year :p

The Cul-de-sac of Revelry was canceled due to inclement weather. So I spent the night at the warehouse at work, building some children's furniture for my son's birthday. Sped home at 2350, had some moscato d'asti on the screen porch watching fireworks, then retired.

We went to a steakhouse, I had a rib eye and about 17 glasses of wine. Then we went to our friend's house and I tried to drink everything they had in their bar, and I considered knocking on their neighbor's door to see if they had any more tequila. I didn't realize when Laura mentioned partying like it was 1999 she was joking and not actually suggesting I party as though I were 25 again.
We got home at 4:00 am (Laura quit drinking after dinner so she was okay to drive home), and Monte (who doesn't understand hangovers) woke me up at 8:30. Good times.

so we tried to get reservations @ our 'new years eve' place, Green Forest. A Brazilian steakhouse. apparently, we tried too late so we then searched on msn citysearch for other ideas. came across a highly reviewed place we had never been ... 17th St. Cafe. they had an opening @ 930, which seemed to fit our needs. and the menu looked good .. http://joyce.1ezsite.net/...e/18bf9/Menus/Dinner.htmlso we headed out about 750 last night to get on the 1st bus, and then we got off of it and took our transfer. it was running late, but we managed to get off at carson and 17th at 9.28. which was perfect. 2 minutes to go 1/2 a block and keep our reservation. walked in right on time, and got our table. the place turned out to be a lot smaller, older, and cozier than we imagined it to be. which was great! they had some bread basket to start, and we got the A by Acacia 2005 Pinot Noir to wash our food down with. I had new york sirloin with a portabella butter sherry sauce, and sicilian potatoes. Sal had a crab stuffed veal dish with a side of pasta marinara. For dessert, I had a warm brownie with raspberry sauce, and she had strawberry cheesecake. The service was excellent, friendly, and fast. We ended up tipping 25% because the evening was excellent in every way. Highly recommended if you're ever in the Burgh

waiting for our 1st bus home, we miraculously caught a taxi , which was great because the rain had picked up, and we had no idea how long the bus wait would be. fortunately, it was a short ride so a low fare, and we also had a friendly driver. from there, we were home around 1130, left around 1140 with a bottle of bubbly to take to the party Sal referenced. we left there around 100 and crashed.

At my son's place out in the middle of nowhere, drinking too much beer, eating too many smoked ribs, steamed clams and a *feces*load of assorted finger food, and setting way too many quarter-sticks.
