Taylor Swift @ Grammys

OK. I understand that she writes her own songs, and that really sets her apart in the country music scene where hardly any perfomer writes his/her own songs. But I'm not seeing what the big deal is. Her performance tonight was horrendous. A 60+ year old Stevie Nicks still sings better than her.

Color me not impressed with Zach Brown as well.
Nashville is truly a wasteland these days.

never heard of her until the kanye and this grammy push... just read the lyrics to some of this crap. lmao @ making $M's pandering thematically mistaken and conflated allusions to classic western pieces that used to be required reading in middle-high school. LOL further that she's the product of home-schooling. I weep for the future.

She owns the teen and pre-teen girl segment like no one else. Also huge in the female segment across the board. More about content than quality. Her performance last night was worse than normal although I've never exactly been impressed having seen her live way more than i would like to admit. (father of 12 year old girl) I will add that I wasn't impressed by the sound quality across the board or the constant matching at the Grammy's of people that shouldn't be singing together in the first place.

I thought she was horrible as well. She is just so one dimensional.
But, then again, no one said talent was a prerequisite for the job! Many before her have proven that.

[Disclaimer: I didn't see the Grammy performance.]
You guys are *fudge*ed.
I like her music, voice and everything I've seen so far. Reading her bio makes it even all the more impressive. (Writing songs at 12 and having your parents drive to Nashville to pitch them to record labels? Yeah, that's where my kid is at right now. Then the best part is after they saw what she was capable of she was able to say *fiddlesticks*offnowadaysRCARecords! At 15. LMAO)
She has a spot in the strohwhich. Just trying to sort the order with her, Jessica, and Carrie.

After having to look up conflated; You're not seriously going with this? Crucifying her for being the latest of the 11ty gazillionth person to play some theme off of Romeo and Juliet? Did you pass over the part of the lyric that read "It's a love story.." ?

Thanks for the post. After watching that. Yes. That performance sukked donkey balls. She is way better than that, and makes me wonder what was up. Not comfortable? Sick, tired, etc. Who knows. She is way better than that. MFAWG, the rest of the post (or point RE: I hate to do this. Is lost on me) Other than Delta Dawn, I grew up with that tune and love it.

Should I keep going? I'm serious: It's a farking wasteland, and it's a damn shame. I'm throwing this one on because she's *goshdarn* HAWT, way, WAY talented and gave one of the greatest 'Stupid Interview Questions' answers I ever heard: I wanna see Taylor Swift pull that *feces* off. Stupid question answer was on some morning show and they SERIOUSLY asked her: "What's up with the hats?" "I'm from ALBERTA!" :

Stroh, I love ya man, but she was only a LITTLE better at the Grammy's than she was at the CMA's, and isn't even in the same ballpark as any of these other country diva's.

"Ah, Bach." Ok, I understand your argument. And I completely agree. No, she's nowhere in the league of the ones you posted or a "Superstar" talent like that. I just wasn't seeing all the hate. I read it all like it was a complete waste of airtime for someone that made the stage from a Target commercial or something. I think she is talented for what she is and has done and like her for exactly that. It's bubblegum country pop and she has a niche. No, she's not Country Diva, and I wouldn't place her with the names you posted.

For my money as far as Country Divas go it's Jennifer Nettles all the way.
