Golf goals for this year?

I want to get out enough at the muni/range to justify a round of play at:
Cog Hill Whistling Straits
odds are that only 1 will really work out for time/$/etc reasons, but it's nice to dream lol

Excellent plan. Would love the chance to play one of them with you. My goal is to fix the short game. It's very clear I am now throwing away a good 6 to 8 strokes a round within 10 yards of the cup.

My rounds so far this year, and what I played early last year (before the job loss) were fine tee to green (knock on this aluminum laptop casing)
But I swear it seems like almost every round has been:
8 yard chip and run from just off the green: Nice shot Chunkles!
30 ft. putt for birdie: Wow, that was almost half way.
10 ft. par putt: Break? You weren't even on the correct side of the cup.
Green side bunker shot that hangs in the fringe: See! Your best shot at a 2 putt all day.
15 ft. birdie putt with now 10 ft. coming back for par: The proverbial take your time on the next two.
2 ft. left to tap in for bogey: Give it to you? You're lucky I give you a ride to the next tee box the way you *fudge*ed that hole up.
I holed out from about 20 yards a couple weeks ago. Jarred it on the fly. Best putt you've made all day.

If I were able to fix my tee shots, I might become a competent golfer. Oh wait, I need to work on my fairway, bunker, and short game (chips, pitch, putting) too! I have fun with the game now and I tell myself that if I made all the improvements, what fun would that be? The only consistent part of my game is my inconsistency.

My youngest is almost 3, and I'm still having a tough time getting him to tell me when he needs to poop.
