For the Blokes.....
« on: January 02, 2007, 01:36:53 PM »

So my wife, god bless her, is back at work this week while I'm still on holidays and has left me a list a mile long of things that need to be done.  It's 8:30am and I've crossed a few things off already.  I'm gonna attempt to get all the vacuming and cleaning done before 10:30 so I can sit down and watch some cricket then do the rest after lunch.

So my question is, does your spouse do this to you??

Cheers

We've gone metric, so the lists I get are only 0.62 times as long as yours.

This is one of my biggest pet peaves.

That is just SO typical of women who work these days.  They don't do ANYTHING around the house and expect us to do it all.  My wife is exactly like that Sad Sad

The only reason I'm married to her still is because we made our vows in a church but if it wasn't for that, I'd leave her in a heartbeat.  She could have the house and I would bet you that in 6 months after I left it would be a total wreck.

btw, I'm quitting this website because it's quite clear to me you people hate me as much as anywhere else.  So what is the point?

Hate is a strong word. Frankly I hardly know you.  But it seems you invite these comments with your actions, petulance and general negativeness...and the drive-bys.  Nothing personal.  I just calls it like I sees it.

I gave you karma.   Shocked

My wife is passive aggressive, so, no, she doesn't do the list thing to me.  It's more like, "When you are out, can you go by the Home Depot and see if any transient workers are still hanging around?"

There was silly talk years ago, back in newlywed stage of a 'job jar' system.

But every time a jar would show up on the kitchen counter, I'd make it disappear.

We both share in the drudgery with preferences for this or that.  I generally cook while she will do the cleanup.  We know what needs to be done and if it's not done, we generally will just live like slobs until the disgust factor prompts us into action.  If one is on vacation, it's a time to relax so the routine doesn't really change.  Smiley

There is always something out there to be done -- figure if I do it then there'll be something else added.  Key is do them in moderation and pace yourself....
