What's in the bag?
« on: March 31, 2010, 09:51:30 PM »

Standard stuff here:

Tour Edge Bazooka 10* neutral driver (2007? Model)  Stock R Flex shaft. Gets replaced with a REALLY old custom painted KZG 320 driver that's actually pretty nice when the occasion is appropriate.

Callaway Big Bertha Warbird 3w 15* Stock whatever shaft.

This is the club that got stolen a couple of years ago, and some (being serious) fine FIGGER went in their closet and found a replacement. They charged me the shipping and a couple of bucks. Davis Love has played the same  club for slightly longer than I have. But only slightly.

I have a higher speed (as in 'Not manufactured in the early 90's, but sometime in the 21st century) Adams in the B bag, but it's just not as good.

Nickent   20* hybrid.

I can hook this OB from ANY lie, at ANY time. It's also REALLY short. Definitely need an upgrade here.

Taylor Made 320 irons, on R flex Rifles.

Perfection. Nothing I could buy would be an 'Upgrade'. They'd just be newer. Full set. I can hit a 3 off the tee 190. Or fade it into the woods 125. Whatever.

Nickent 52* Genex gunmetal with a NICE rust finish wedge. Rifle shaft. Again, perfection. Slight gap from my pitch on the TM's, but partial wedge shot's don't scare me much.

SMT (no, REALLY!) Durometer 59* bent to 58*. Nice stick. True temper shaft.

Some kind of Never Compromise mallet putter that I paid 10 bucks for. Could get replaced. Sooner rather than later.

Using cheap balls right now, could use some advice. ProV1 Reloads ARE an option.

Dexter and Bite shoes. (Dexter was the LAST company to move production offshore, and Bite used to be local. I live my soshilism whenever possible. Sue me!)

Mine has not changed recently either.  On purpose.

Ping staff bag.

Driver is SV2 (Sumo Square Clone my BIL built for 55 bucks.) Purple Ice stiff shaft.
Best club in the bag.  I hit the *feces* out of it.

Callaway Bertha 4 wood.  Stock stiff shaft.  I struggled years ago hitting FW woods, but decided I could not live without one.  I decide to split the difference and got this one from Second Swing for 35 bucks.  I've had it 4 years now, and to me it's worth 35,000.  I hit the *feces* out of it too.  Nice high draw with it.  Or a hook if I get carried away.

I have some piece of *feces* Rawlings hybrid that I just recently took out.  The only thing I ever used it for was rolling a ball on from just off the green.

Ping Eye 2  3-PW.  TT Dynamic Gold stiff.  Love these irons.  I've gone away from them and back to them several times.  I'm leaning at looking at getting new irons because even though my Pings are great I'm loosing 10 yards.  Cast v. forged.  I like the Titleist irons.

Snake Eye forged 54 and 56 I got from Clive and Derion.  Love 'em.

I have a Rife 2Bar mallet that I'm not necessarily in love with but find it hard to spend money on something new.  There's a nike putter I like, but the shaft isn't long enough.  I want a 35" shaft.

Titleist ProV1 PRACTICE balls.  Identical ball but marked with PRACTICE in huge letters.  Serves two purposes.  One, they are 1/2 the price and two it is very easy to tell which ball is mine.

Shoes are Nike (something) black saddle.  Nice and the best thing they don't have that stupid "bowling shoe" toe.  That extra stripey thing.

Okay, since there seems to be only three of us that actually play here anymore, I'll bite. Shocked

Bag: Ogio Ozone. Only because my son (primary playing partner) always bitched about the size of my Amp cart bag.

Driver: Purefit DC420 12º with an SMT Basalt shaft.

Fairway: Titleist 904f 3W with a TT Dynamic Gold.  The kid just moved out and left this behind for me to try.  If not, I'll go back to the Adams Tight-Lies
4W I've been using forever.

Hybrids: Alpha RX 22º and 26º on Swing Science Series 200 graphite.  Love-hate relationship with these.  I either kill them or lift and top them.

Irons: Dynacraft Prophet Tours on FST Pro-White Lights.  No excuse here, I've been a Dynacraft junkie since I started building clubs, and these are just flat-out ****y.  Besides that, the shafts were previously in a set of Integras I bought from Clive.

Wedges: Purefit Milled on the same FST's.  Nice wedges.

Putter: Rife 2-bar blade.  A Christmas present a year ago, and now I can putt.

Yeah, I still read the equipment forums at FGI and sometimes fall for the hype, but I know enough to separate the wheat from the chaff.  Besides, I have almost as much fun building as I do playing.

Nobody is carrying a 6i length pitching wedge?

Color me shocked!

I'm using an Izzo stand bag.

Titleist ProV1 PRACTICE balls.

Yeah. I bought a 12 pack of reloads because I was broke once. It really is a great ball. Your loss and some guys scuba gear is my 300 pct discount!

I was and I did. I went back to the Infiniti and Adams woods because I hit them better, which is to say I hit them slightly less terribly. LOVE the Wishon irons, though.

I had to stop carrying American currency and switch to a dollar slot token for a ball marker, as I would always spend the quarters on beer.

I'm using a 2 pence piece from some damn where and a driving range token from here:

http://www.ftwainwrightfmwr.com/chenabendgolf.html.

I also have some Nu-Skin, sunscreen and 2 gloves.

What's weird is I truly have NO IDEA where the gloves came from! I've never, ever worn a glove.

The good thing about getting old, is that you can hit the ball out of sight.
