Highest Of Highs To The Lowest of Lows.
« on: May 19, 2010, 08:09:39 PM »

Talked to the spousal unit tonight.

Madolyn is playing softball.  Apparently this team/league is fairly competitive.  Well, Maddie has played one year of tee-ball, then off a few years and then one year of softball, then off a couple of years and then now this.

Hard to articulate and more than I feel like typing but she "kinda" knows the game but is behind the curve (again, apparently I dunno I'm not *goshdarn* there) It seems these girls are fairly advanced and her skills aren't up to theirs.  Or more so her knowledge of the game.

Well that just pisses me off.  I should be there teaching my daughter how to play the game.   Angry   The fact that I'm not and Karen tells me she hears other parents talking about the plays Maddie is missing, getting wrong, doesn't understand...... Sad Sad  and then  Angry Angry

Karen says she doesn't understand the game, and has no clue what to tell her (Is understandable.  That's what a Father is for.  Damn It!)

The positive is she seems to still have a good attitude and still wants to play.   Thumbs Up

Just flat out pisses me off and breaks my heart.  I should be there helping/teaching my daughter.  And responding to those parents in the stands.  If she *fudge*s up, so be it.  I'm not saying I'm some super athlete or the best coach in the world, but if I was there.....I could at least teach her the game.

*fiddlesticks* this sucks.

Preemptive:

Have you/your wife talked to the coach?

I told Karen that tonight.  It's a husband and wife duo and a bit tough to talk to.  They seem to recognize what's going on and asked her to be there early for the next game to work with her.

I just don't want her to leave with a bad impression on this experience from this and have no interest going forward in the rest of life with any sports.

Oh, I guess I should add, from what I can gather:  The problem was running from second base when she shouldn't have (must have been a fly ball that was caught.  Like I said Karen has no idea and I only get the news from her) and three balls hit to her in left field she either fielded badly or threw in poorly that cost them the lead and then the game.

I don't really know a whole lot about the technicallities of tee-ball, softball or baseball other than when you're batting, you hit the ball and run in a counter-clockwise direction, when you're fielding you only need one glove, and that at the Anahiem Statdium there's a crazy lady who when she checks your ID and has no idea what's going on when you show her your Australian Drivers Licence.

Plus, all she was prepared to serve was Coors....

So far you're dead spot on.

Finish?

[Edit:  5 Coors do = 1 Foster's.  Just sayin.]

She was probably thrown off by the foreign language.
