Should be a beautiful day. If I think about it, I'll get some pix too.

even though i've been playing great @ the par 3/ pitchnputt  i'm not expecting much from this round.   the back 9  is a brutal round killer @  birdsfoot  unless you're putting your driver in play on every swing.

*note to self - play smart, use new 1h*  off tee  if can't hit driver today*

I play the white tees. There isn't a lot of water except a small river guarding the 8th green and a pond guarding the left side of the 18th. Other than that, it's a mountain style layout with lots of OB. Very nice course, probably my favorite in Utah, but I haven't played Valley View, which is up by Uisce. I hear that's very nice too.

well, as i've never been to  utah  , i'll take your word for it

i haven't decided on blue or black tees here.   I've shot in the 80's from black @ the course before, but that was last year and when i was hitting the range routinely.

I agree with spaceage regarding the quality of Bountiful Ridge.  It's a first class course in excellent condition at all times.  If not for a couple of quirks it would be one of my favorites:

(1)  Starts out reachable par-5 followed by par-3.  Rounds always start slow.  Picks up after that though.

(2)  No practice facility other than a tricked up green that's all slopes and angles.  I like to hit 20 balls to get loose and I have to make a pitstop at another course in order to do so.

The views are great.  You're up on the bench looking down on airliners approaching the SLC airport.  They have decent beer in the clubhouse which is something around here and especially Bountiful (pretty damn boring town).   Shocked

All in all, I reckon that most of you would be blown away at the quality of courses we have around here.  I've played resort courses which don't measure up to many of ours and you can play almost anywhere in No. Utah for < $40 with cart.  We're very lucky.

Oh, I'm sure you know this already spaceage but it's worth repeating, EVERYTHING at the Ridge breaks to the lake.   Wink

I hope all three of you have/had fun.  My round starts tomorrow at 8:20.

Gorgeous day for golf. A little cool, kind of overcast, play was a bit slow (walked 18 in just over 4:30), but overall can't complain.

The greens had been punched recently, but were filling in okay. Tough to read a putt. Nailed a couple of beauties, missed some that should have dropped. Indeed everything breaks toward the lake, even when it doesn't look like it.

I was struggling a bit with my hybrids today (chili dips  Angry), but hitting mid/short irons and wedges solidly (just swapped out my SMT Durometers for Maltby M Series- they don't spin quite like the SMTs but they feel like butter). Driver was so-so- mostly straight but not terribly long. Smuggled my own beer, but they do have good stuff in the clubhouse (they even carry Squatters stuff these days  Thumbs Up).

Shot 43 out 44 back. Not a bad round for this hacker. $22 well spent.  Grin (Forgot to grab the camera on the way out so no pics. Sad)

Bountiful is indeed a pretty boring place, but I'm a pretty boring guy these days and it's home.  Smiley

we're heading to a party in a bit,  so getting ALL the pix  up  will have to wait,  but I'm uploading a few right now

shot 42/40-  82  from the whites ... I wussed out.  wouldn't have been such a good score except that on the last 3 holes,  i started hitting great.   until then it was good shot, crap shot... good shot, mediocre shot... etc

anyways,  im gonna post 4-5 pix now...  and the rest later or tomorrow

Here's one of me hitting my 2nd on the par 5 16th.

2nd shot ever with my new 1h

had about 10 feet for eagle  just off the collar.

ended up with birdie

..and the last one for today...  here's Sal watching over both of our approaches into 18th green

she played into the fairway, missed the green left with her 3wood and we couldnt find it.  so she took a penalty and drop Embarrassed, then pitched on with her 8i,  cleverly using the backboard of the hole to funnel back in close

i missed the fairway (long, ran through the left side), punched out to about 100 yards, and did a 3/4 pw to about 10 feet.  missed the par by about 2 inches.
