The chatroom config has been changed, so that now when you enter the room, you see less of the chat history. Used to be 20, now set to 5.
$params["max_msg"] = 5;
Also, for those interested in private rooms within chat, I couldn't get the /invite command to work correctly, but anyone that types "/join room_name" should open up a second private chat tab. (where [room_name] is whatever you want it to be called) Each person who wants to join would need to do this.
