Best email solution - work???
« on: January 15, 2007, 07:54:26 PM » |
|
I've been using Goldmine for my e-mail client, as well as contact management, for the last year or so, though am sick and tired of having to download headers prior to downloading messages. While I like the security, I don't have the time.
One of the primary things that I dislike about Outlook is that the actual files (documents, images, etc.) are attached to messages, so that the .pst file grows and grows and grows. Yes, I can archive messages, but I'm still saving, redundantly, the files, when there is a reply and forwarding exchange where the files are sent over and over.
Any suggestions for a good e-mail client?
Thanks!

I like Thunderbird.
I'll have to play with it some - I know I downloaded it and set it up at some point, though I cannot recall why I chose not to use it. Thanks, space!

Do you really use pine or is that a wiseacre response? I haven't used pine in ages. I'm using Thunderbird these days.

Thanks, Aske! I'll have to look into pine in more detail. Appreciate it! lenny, while I was quasi-serious ( I LOVE PINE) it is a linux/unix based application and hence if you are using a WIN machine it requires an interface like SSH/PUTTY/XWIN/etc to provide connection, and you will need a SAMBA server connection to easily access attachments

I can't say that I really miss pine. It's probably been 10 years since I've used it.
