Here's What You Need to Use Windows XP Professional • PC with 300 megahertz or higher processor clock speed recommended; 233 MHz minimum required (single or dual processor system);* Intel Pentium/Celeron family, or AMD K6/Athlon/Duron family, or compatible processor recommended • 128 megabytes (MB) of RAM or higher recommended (64 MB minimum supported; may limit performance and some features) • 1.5 gigabytes (GB) of available hard disk space* • Super VGA (800 x 600) or higher-resolution video adapter and monitor • CD-ROM or DVD drive • Keyboard and Microsoft Mouse or compatible pointing device I'm going to go with 'maybe' and 'probably not' That thing was probably between 1500 and 2k bucks not so long ago.

My first computer had 64k system ram and no hard disk. You had to boot from a floppy.

My first computer had 64k system ram and no hard disk. You had to boot from a floppy. Luxury! My first (after Atari) had 1k of ram and you had to program it. Cardboard box. My second (1982) had 16k (upgraded to a fuggin whoppin 48k) and could load stuff by audio tape baby. Warm gravel. Before that we had punch cards. Uphill, both ways. Yes, I have a TARDIS. Hole in the road. Tell that to kids these days and they won't believe you.

What were you searching for when you found this? The sad thing is that there is a bid on it.

We had to fill a room with servers the size of refrigerators in order to have enough memory to program a simple dot-matrix printer driver. Even then, we had nothing to print because it would take another warehouse full of 19mm tape drives just to run a word processing program to type up a simple letter.
