Concerts

Used to be I'd hit every R&R concert that came to town. Quiet Riot on Tuesday, the Tubes on Saturday. Really didn't matter.
Then I went into a period where I'd only go to my favorites. This was pretty much the story of my 30s. Saw Rush, Halen, Page & Plant, the Eagles and a few others. Maybe a dozen concerts in a decade.
Now, I can hardly be bothered. They're SO expensive and often mixed so loud it takes 20 seconds to figure out which song they're playing. Van Halen about three years ago was this way. Horrible. LOL, I'm an old foggie.
So anyway, I'm pretty much in concert DVD mode although I did take the boy to Australian Pink Floyd late last year. I'll vote "Never - DVDs baby!!" though.

I agree with your take on how LOUD they are now. Or maybe it's my age.
We went to see Trans-Siberia Orchestra right after Christmas. Great seats on the floor and we took our oldest daughter. I still am not sure why they felt the need to be at the volume they were. Glad I brought some ear plugs for her.
I'll still go from time to time but only if I'm really interested in the performer.

I rarely attend mainstream concerts, but I do hit up at least a couple of "bluesfest" type events every year.

In my 20's I hit every hair band that came to town. I haven't been to a concert in forever. No desire. Last attempt was Poison, and Warrant. Show was cancelled, and tickets refunded. Still waiting for Axl to come through and cancel here.

There's almost nobody currently out there who is worth the price they are charging for tickets. I still remember my first concert. The Kinks, Mott the Hoople and Santana. Capitol Theater, Portchester, NY. $12.50.

I used to go see every band I was even remotely interested, but I haven't been to a show, other than friends' bands, in ages. We saw Sum 41 and Motley Crue at Usana Amphitheater a while back, but only because we got free tickets and wanted to see the freak show. We left early. Before that we saw KISS and Aerosmith (left after KISS) but also had free tickets to that.
I don't like crowds, the sound quality is generally poor (also way too loud), tickets are too expensive, etc. I'll go for free if it's a band I'm interested in, but can't remember the last show I actually felt like paying for. (Almost scored tickets to Slayer at Saltaire, but that fell through.)

rarely anymore, almost never.
Did go to Ozzfest 2 years ago to see Judas Priest and Black Sabbath and was glad to see that at 42 I wasn't the oldest dude there.

I considered going to Ozzfest but IIRC, Maiden dropped off the tour before they got to SLC, so I decided against. (Also couldn't score free tickets as I recall.)

I used to go all the time when I was in Greece. Unfortunately, nothing really significant happens here...

Unfortunately, nothing really significant happens here... Typical "we gave birth to western civilization, blah, blah, blah" Greek attitude.

In my twenties, I lived in Melbourne for a few years, and I saw Joe Cocker, John Cougar Mellancamp, had tickets for Fleetwood Mac (they cancelled as Stevie had another little drug problem) and lots of Australian bands. A few big international acts have come to Cairns (an hours drive away), but I couldn't be bothered driving there, and dealing with the crowds etc (old age!!!!! ) I buy dvd's!!!!

Last 'concert' I went to was Garrison Keiller. Man I'm old. Man it was good.
Mostly I catch local coffee shop acts.
